The Martin Residence

Fall 2021

AutoCAD, SketchUp, & Adobe InDesign
The Martin Residence is an Art Deco inspired condominium in the area of downtown Fargo. This space features universal design concepts along with sustainable materials to accommodate all their needs. Clark and Ava see this being their long-term home so using sustainable materials will allow for them to keep entertaining for years to come. Their condo will also have many universally designed spaces and open areas to accommodate for any medical problems that may show up in the future with them or their guests. The condominium depicts the art deco style with a modern flair, and a touch of mid-century modern. There are many rich colors with bold and geometric patterns. The colors I have chosen to use throughout the space have the perfect amount of bold and fun, but still feeling clean and airy. There are also touches of luxurious furniture and elegancy throughout the space. When walking through the residence there will also be many pieces of local art that tie into the art deco design and show hints of jazz music. Surround sound will also be included for the Martin’s to share their love of jazz and create a fun inviting space when they have guests. All elements throughout this space have been thoroughly picked to fit Clark and Ava’s needs. Appliances are all Energy Star certified to make sure they are as safe as they can be for the aging couple. There will also be elements throughout the space that are custom made including the island and living room chandelier. Together, all these elements create a beautiful, sustainable, and safe design for the Martin’s and their guests.
