Vancouver Children's Museum
Fall 2023 - Spring 2024
Revit, Enscape, & Canva
The Vancouver Children's Museum is located on Burrard Street in Vancouver, Canada. JMB Interiors was dedicated to designing an engaging and educational children's museum that prioritized learning, creativity, and fun. We focused on child development, inclusivity, and cultural diversity while integrating technology and various design theories to enhance the museum experience. With thorough research, including literature reviews, industry interviews, and museum site visits, we ensured our design was well-informed and met the diverse needs of children. Our goal was to create a museum that not only educated and entertained but also positively impacted the community, fostering a love for exploration and learning among young visitors.
CCPAC - Capitol City Pediatric Asthma Center
Spring 2023
Revit, Enscape, Canva & Adobe InDesign
This Capital City Pediatric Asthma Center (CCPAC) is located on the corner of Laurel and 5th street in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This building was recently acquired by The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). This pediatric clinic is welcoming and interactive to all children ages 0-18 through the use of colors and materials that are bold and geometric. These bold colors will help in wayfinding within the clinic, so patients and families feel comfortable navigating the space.
The underlying color of the space will be a light French gray. Other colors used throughout the space will be blue, orange, yellow, and green. Blue symbolizes security, has a positive effect on confidence, and effects calmness/relaxation of the body. Using blue as the second main color of the space will help make patients feel comfortable, confident, and calm at an appointment within the clinic. The color orange is complimentary to blue creating harmony throughout the space. Orange symbolizes emotion and youth, along with having a positive effect on people with weak lungs. Orange is a great color to use within the lab or x-ray area contributing to positive effects on the patients. Additionally, yellow can help patients feel happy and energized, while green symbolizes safety, growth, and health. Using green throughout the clinic will also help relate to biophilia and bring a sense of nature into the space. Together these colors will create cohesion throughout the space and uplift the mood, so patients feel comfortable and confident when entering the clinic.

Hero's Bay
Fall 2022
AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Canva, & My Resource Library
Hero’s Bay is the East wing of micro-apartments, located within The Heroic Haven. These micro-apartments are small in scale to be able to house as many homeless veterans as possible. Hero’s Bay was designed with a simplistic feel in mind. Each apartment within this wing is approximately 450 square feet but, that being said, they are still all fully accessible. These apartments and the amenities that this wing holds were designed to be bright, open, accessible, transformative, comforting, and safe. Hero’s Bay is also meant to represent unity and honor the veterans that will be using the space. Each apartment is designed with a similar color theme to The Heroic Haven with warm, natural colors. These nature inspired colors bring joy to the space and uplift the mood of the individual living there. Utilizing these colors, along with natural light from the windows will make for great wellness within each space.
